Hey everybody! :) Have you heard? A lot of people are learning about line dancing, but there are still a lot of people who do not understand just how great line dancing can be.. It isn’t just exercise.. I mean, it can be, but it can be SO much more.. It can be vacations, therapy, and yep even a sport. No matter what age you are there are competitions all over the world. Today I want to talk about…. drum roll, please…… The Standard Western Showdown!!!! It’s running wild all over the country yet again.. If you weren’t in on it til this point you might still have a chance to get in. The ultimate showdown will be in December, but to get to that point you must compete and qualify in one of these events.

Super excited about this one since it hits a little closer to home for me. If you are still beginning and just getting into this crazy line dance stuff, feel free to stick to the workshops for awhile.. If you have never even thought about doing the workshops, lemme tell ya, you gotta go.. even if it is only to some of the smaller local workshops put on by just one choreographer.. Those events are less expensive and do not last as many days, if it takes up a whole day at all. But stepping up from that world to 3 day or a 5 day event is huge… and there really is a lot that goes into it.. Sounds like a topic for my next newsletter. Anyways..
Another really great opportunity is called YESSS!! happening July 24th - 27th The event is located at the Embassy Suites By Hilton Scottsdale Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona.
On their website it says and i quote..
“We offer line dance lessons at all levels and in a variety of genres including country, pop, waltz, and more to help build your movement styles repertoire and enhance your love for line dancing!
We have incredible instructors ready to show you everything from names of basic steps to advanced line dances popular across the country.” i also see on their page that they will be doing technique classes, country swing and others, in case you are interested.”
I borrowed some of the images on their page because it presents and explains so much, so well.. i just couldn’t have said it better myself.. Check them out below.
Click here for more information about tickets and access to registration. I would for sure be on this journey if I didn’t live so far away… Starting today I am definitely saving up for next year’s event though.. It just sounds like the perfect summer get away for me.
